This course is designed for students intending to be elementary school teachers. The goal is to give the students theoretical understanding of the kinds of mathematics taught in the elementary grades. Content topics include basic operations with rational and real numbers, geometry, problem-solving, measurements, calculators, and computers. Prerequisite: MAT 1001 College Mathematics I with a grade of C or higher, or two years of NYS Regents level mathematics with an average of C or higher.
