Effective Speaking

Principles and practices of public speaking. Students will present extemporaneous and prepared speeches, including informative and persuasive speeches. They will research, write, revise and deliver coherent college-level speeches, developing and supporting arguments with credible, reliable sources. They will use visual aids and vocal variety effectively. They will give constructive feedback on the effectiveness of speeches. At the end of the course, students will know how to write and deliver effective college-level speeches.
