Student inquiry into the origin and validity of the Newtonian model of the universe is promoted in this course, which emphasizes the processes of science so that students learn to formulate a basis for either accepting or rejecting scientific theories. Areas of physics presented are electricity, magnetism, and optics. 3 hrs. lect.; 3 hrs. lab. Prerequisite: PHY 101 with a grade of C or better.
