Fall 2025 Transfer Town Hall
The SUNY Seamless Transfer Initiative is an ongoing effort to implement the recommendations and success metrics outlined in the final report of the SUNY Transfer Task Force, which was approved by the SUNY Board of Trustees in December 2024. We were pleased to host an open session for all members of the SUNY community on October 21, 2025. Promoting SUNY Transfer Paths
This session focuses on strategies and best practices for promoting SUNY Transfer Paths. In early Fall 2025, SUNY will be asking campuses to include transfer path information within catalogs and throughout campus pages. This session will provide some practical advice and practices.

This session covers SUNY’s student-centered communication framework to help campuses consistently describe the transfer process. It’s a flexible tool—not a new policy—that promotes transparency and helps students plan confidently, no matter their starting point or destination.

It covers best practices, effective strategies, timelines, and expectations for managing core course listings and ways to promote on-campus review.

Managing Transfer Equivalencies
This training module is designed to help users effectively manage the display and editing of course equivalencies within the SUNY Transfer Equivalency Platform (STEP).

Transfer Appeals 101
This workshop provides an overview of the SUNY Transfer Appeal process, including expectations, procedures, and relevant policies. It will cover when students are eligible to appeal, how appeals are reviewed and resolved, and how course information and learning objectives are generally evaluated.
