Data Infrastructure

The SUNY Transfer Equivalency Platform (STEP) is the foundational data infrastructure supporting transfer across the SUNY system. STEP aggregates course articulation and equivalency data from SUNY institutions and transforms that information into actionable services, including course transfer evaluation, transfer pathway guidance, academic program exploration, and student support resources. As SUNY’s centralized transfer data repository, STEP helps ensure consistent transfer information, informed decision-making, and improved student mobility across institutions.

SUNY Transfer Navigator

The SUNY Transfer Navigator is the user-facing suite of tools powered by the SUNY Transfer Equivalency Platform (STEP). Drawing on STEP’s centralized repository of course equivalencies, transfer pathways, academic programs, and institutional resources, the Navigator helps students, advisors, faculty, and staff explore how courses transfer, identify degree-aligned transfer pathways, discover academic opportunities, and connect with support services across the SUNY system.

SUNY Transfer Hub

The Transfer Hub is the faculty- and staff-facing resource center within the SUNY Transfer Equivalency Platform (STEP). Serving as a central point of access for transfer professionals, advisors, faculty, administrators, and campus leaders, the Hub provides guidance, policy documentation, implementation resources, communications, professional development opportunities, events, and current information related to transfer and articulation across the SUNY system.
