This course will survey British Literature from its beginnings to the early seventeenth century. Literature will be presented through a historical perspective, and students will closely read, and write about, texts to explore the ideas, struggles, and world views of each age to understand each historical period and its literature. This course meets the SUNY General Education requirements for Humanities and The Arts.
