This course is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of substance and behavioral addictions, from both historical and contemporary perspectives. Topics will include definitions and models of addiction; contributing variables leading to addiction; the neurobiology of addiction; prevention and treatment approaches for addictions; and the impact of addiction on society.
