Prerequisites: PSY 203 and PSY 212 or PSY 213.
This introductory course presents an overview of the historical, philosophical, sociological and pedagogical influences on American education. Prominent figures who have shaped education and Supreme Court cases that have influenced educational policy are examined. Major trends in contemporary education are analyzed with special focus on multicultural and inclusive education. Students who have taken PSY 208 will not receive credit for EDU 208.
