BIO 244 | General Microbiology
Introduction to microbiology by a survey of methods, tools and techniques used in studying main groups of bacteria and other medically significant microorganisms as well as the application of this knowledge to their physical and chemical control. In addition, the relationship of microorganisms to biotechnology and disease is discussed. This course is recommended for students interested in nursing and other health sciences. Note: Fulfills SUNY-GE Natural Sciences. (3 hrs. lecture, 4 hrs. laboratory) Prerequisite: BIO132 with a C or better OR BIO130 with a B+ or better and corequisite of BIO132.
