A one-semester survey of two-to-three non-European major world cultures. Focus is on the development, history, spread, and influence of non-European intellectual and cultural achievements; on understanding cultures within a global and comparative context; on cross-cultural interactions, including cultural diversity and globalization; and on the beliefs, values, perspectives, structures and contributions that have given rise to our present-day world civilization. The non-European cultures covered each semester may vary. Note: Fulfills SUNY-GE World History and Global Awareness, SUNY-GE Social Sciences and SUNY-GE Diversity.
