Second or third course in a three-semester sequence of calculus-based physics offered to majors in STEM. It focuses on electricity and magnetism including the laws of Coulomb, Gauss, Ampere, Biot-Savart, Faraday, Lenz, DC and AC circuits, and Maxwell's equations. (4 hrs. lecture/recitation) Note: Fulfills SUNY-GE Natural Sciences. Prerequisites: MAT142, PHY130, PHY132. Corequisite: PHY232. Offered on: A-E-G / 3 cr. hrs.
