The course presents an overview of the wide variety of roles and responsibilities of Early Childhood professionals working in educational and community-based settings. The course examines the National Association for the Education of Young Children's Code of Ethical Conduct, standards, and developmentally appropriate practices for children birth to age 8. Other topics include: curriculum models, environments that meet the needs of young children, positive child guidance, family partnerships, and the services provided by community agencies.
