This composition course will begin with a review of academic essay writing as presented in ENGL 101 and proceed to intensive work on writing research essays and term papers. A student must demonstrate competency in items 1-5 in the course description of ENGL 101 and in (6) locating, evaluating, using and documenting source material, (7) command of various modes of rhetorical development, and (8) ability to revise one's writing at the thesis level and beyond. Prerequisite: ENGL 101 or admission to the Honors program. This course is designed primarily for students transferring to four-year institutions which require two semesters of composition.
