Focus on interpersonal communication theories to help understand dyadic communication. Theories of effective interpersonal communication are examined and applied. Specific topics that will be addressed include meaning and interpretation, verbal and nonverbal processes, gender and cultural identity, listening and speaking skills, conflict management, new technologies & online dating, and relationship formation, maintenance, and deterioration.Liberal ArtsPrerequisite(s): CMM 101 and Sophomore standing.
