This course will examine the development, diagnostic symptoms, and clinical dimensions related to abnormal behavior as outlined in the current classification system. Major topics include the historical, biological, psychological, and social perspectives of abnormal behavior and the comparison of different treatment modalities, their methods, and differential effectiveness. Further, this course will thoroughly examine the scientific research and empirical findings within the area of psychopathology and its implications. (Usually offered Fall and Spring semesters).Prerequisite: PSY 110Meets SUNY General Education requirement for Social Sciences (SS)
