This course will provide basic health information and surveys health issues in society. It considers health within the context of human development and is designed to acquaint students with understandings, attitudes, and practices that contribute to healthy lifestyles. It considers universal health concerns and addresses issues unique to diverse populations. Emphasis is on personal responsibility for health as a cornerstone of society. Further, it encourages students to recognize health as a dynamic field and fosters critical thinking essential to health.
