3 credits

In this course, students will be introduced to the core concepts and methodologies of cultural anthropology. Cultural anthropology is an academic discipline that seeks to understand human cultural diversity, the reasons for that diversity, and its implications for peoples' social and economic life. It uses research methodologies that seek to find out how people understand themselves, others, and appropriate ways of living in the world. The course will also explore classic themes and issues in the anthropological study of cultural and social issues, and arrangements both in the United States and around the world.
