This course examines psychological disorders from a variety of perspectives. In addition to the usual survey of psychological disorders across diagnostic categories, it also considers the possible causes of psychological problems and a wide variety of therapeutic techniques used to treat them. The history and scientific underpinning ofpsychological diagnosis and treatment is also covered.Prerequisite: PSYC 101 or equivalent, or permission of instructor3 credits (3 lecture hours), fall or spring semesterThis course satisfies the Liberal Arts and Sciences requirement and the SUNY General Education Requirement for Social Science.
