Statistics

This course begins with a study of basic data analysis using various graphical and numerical descriptions and one- and two-variable statistics. Concepts of sampling and experimental design are introduced. Sampling distributions are followed by statistical inference including confidence intervals and hypothesis tests for population means and proportions, ending with an analysis of variance and Chi- square. Graphing calculators are employed to study realistic data sets. A TI-83, TI-83 plus, or TI-84 graphing calculator is required for this course. Prerequisite: None (3:3,0) or (3:4,0) Permission of instructor required for extended contact hour sections.
