The different steps of gene expression in bacteria and eukaryotes, such as transcription and translation, DNA replication and repair are discussed in Molecular Biology. Disease examples and possible treatments as well as experimental approaches to study current research questions in molecular biology will be discussed in the context of molecular mechanisms and regulation. This course is particularly helpful to students who want to get deeply into the molecular mechanism of the cell and for students with an interest in a career in research. This course is part of the core requirements for the BCAMB/BS program. Prerequisite(s): A BIO 212. Prerequisite(s) or corequisite(s): A BIO 365.
