An introduction to the fundamentals of physics: Thermodynamics and kinetic gas theory. Quantum theory of photons, atoms, nuclei and solids. Students must complete A PHY 240 with a C or better to register for A PHY 320 or 410, 340 or 470, and 440. Prerequisite or corequisite: A MAT 214; prerequisite: A PHY 150 or T PHY 151 or A PHY 152.
