Archaeology is the study of human material culture, the component of culture left behind following the cessation of living activities. This course will give students a broad general background in the history, theory and method of archaeology including middle range theory, sites, survey, excavation, artifacts, analysis, dating, interpretation, and applied research through directed reading, discussion, lecture and/or field experience.
