Chemistry I
This course is designed for the specific needs of engineering science and other qualified students whose immediate objective is transferring to upper division engineering or science major programs. Topics include modern structure of atoms; ionic, covalent, and metallic bonding; material science; molecular spectroscopy; properties of gases, solids, and liquids; and kinetics. Laboratory work illustrates theoretical concepts and data presentation and emphasizes techniques. (Formerly entitled Freshman Chemistry I.) Offered Fall. A lab fee will be required.
