This course is designed to introduce the student to the Spanish sound system and grammatical structure in an effort to give the student a basic understanding of the language, including listening comprehension, reading, speaking and writing skills. In addition to language skills, the course offers the student insight into Spanish culture. Classroom instruction is supplemented with exercises in the language laboratory. Recommendation: Primarily designed for students with no previous knowledge of Spanish. Offered Fall, Spring, Summer, DL. A lab fee will be required.
