This course presents an introduction to modern genetics. Topics include the transmission of hereditary information, DNA structure and replication, gene expression and regulation, mutation, DNA repair, and bacterial genetics. Laboratory exercises complement these topics by utilizing current techniques in molecular biology. Prerequisites: Two college biology courses. Lab fee. (Spring)
