CHEM 1520
General Chemistry II
This is the second course in a two-course general chemistry sequence, which covers the principles of chemistry and its quantitative aspects. Topics include thermochemistry, intermolecular forces and physical states of matter, properties of aqueous solutions, thermodynamics and equilibrium, electrochemistry, and chemical kinetics. Descriptive chemistry is integrated throughout the course. This course is intended for science majors. Lecture/laboratory. Prerequisites: CHEM 1510. High school physics and a familiarity with algebraic/logarithmic calculations is strongly recommended. Lab fee. (Spring/Summer)
