Prerequisite: SPN 212. This bridge course between the intermediate level language sequence and the literature and culture courses reinforces students' oral and written proficiency in order to prepare them for advanced-level work. Through class discussion and debates of visual and written texts, students acquire knowledge of current controversial topics like immigration, Spanglish, etc. Requires active participation.
