CIS 201 | COMPUTER SCIENCE I

CIS 201 -- Computer Science I (3) Introduction to computer science and systems through problem definition, decomposition, solution design, programming, and testing. Programming includes using data types, control structures, and functions; solutions will use simple data, lists, and files. The digital, binary, and general-purpose nature of a modern computer is examined by looking at the parts of the computer and how some data and instructions are encoded in it. Laboratory required. Prerequisite: MATH 142 or MATH 151 (may be taken concurrently). Gen Ed: FM credit, FS credit for course if taken with Recitation option.
