This is an introductory survey of American History from the Civil War and Reconstruction to the present. Topics include western migration, the impact of industrialization and urbanization, the rise of organized labor and the rise of the United States as a world power. This course covers the social, political, cultural and economic life of the people of the United States, with a special focus on unity and diversity during the 19th and 20th centuries.
