Peoples/Cultures of World
Deals with the major types and varieties of societies in the world outside the Americas to further global and ethnic understanding. Students will consider varieties of cultural behavior such as initiation rites, warfare patterns, and social structure with a view to students developing the critical thinking skills to compare and evaluate such behaviors. A culture area such as Africa or Oceania is selected for such analysis. ANT 1520 is suggested but not a prerequisite. Eligibility: ENG 1510 without supports or Corequisite: ENG 1510 with supports.
