This course is an introduction to the history, theories, policies and methods of human service delivery systems. Designed for those students interested in a career in the helping professions, this course will introduce the student to society's responses to social problems which arise when individuals' basic needs cannot be met independently. Considering both theory and practical application, the class will explore the models and organization and management of human service agencies, the role of client and professional and ethical considerations.Note: This course may be used as a liberal arts elective only; it does not fulfill the Social Science requirement for any degree nor any SUNY General Education requirement
