A review of the basics of spoken and written Spanish, with readings, conversation, composition, grammar, and cultural explorations designed to raise language skills to the level required for entry into the major programs. May profitably be taken with SPAN 2012. Students may request to take SPAN 2001 and SPAN 2002 in the same semester if needed for timely completion of the degree. Offered Spring only.
