THEATRE HISTORY I

3 credits

This course examines the development of theater arts from the ancients through neoclassicism. There will be an emphasis in this class on the physical theater of the past, historical production techniques, and the various lenses historians utilize to study them. Representative plays will be studied to illustrate historical movements and trends and for the purposes of this class shall be viewed as anthropological artifacts. Offered Fall only.
