Human Biology
This course provides fundamental concepts of biology, chemistry, cells, and genetics as they relate to humans. The systematic study of cells, tissues, organs and organ systems will emphasize their normal physiological function and interaction to maintain homeostasis. Common disorders of each human body system will be discussed with treatment and preventive measures explored. This course is a general science course for non-science majors. This course does not satisfy a lab science requirement for students in the Natural Science degree program but may be used as a prerequisite for upper level biology courses. It is recommended that students take this course after completing any required noncredit coursework in Reading, Math, or English. Prerequisites: None. 4 cr. 3 Lec. 3 Lab.
