The theme of our overall transfer initiatives, “Seamless Transfer, Limitless Possibilities” is designed to encapsulate our commitment to providing transfer students with a smooth and supportive transition into our SUNY campus communities. While much of the Transfer Task Force report, and many initial programs are focused on vertical transfer – moving from a two-year to four-year program – the notion of creating a supportive, seamless process for all students is also embedded in the theme. Seamless Transfer also refers to a long-standing collection of SUNY policies focused on providing pathways and creating enabling structure and practices for transfer. The theme establishes our continued commitment to our students and this approach.

The theme is not only a guiding principle but also a reflection of our aspirations for our transfer students, where we believe that SUNY can provide a network of campuses and a community of scholars that allows a student to begin their college career anywhere, and be provided with opportunities and pathways to go virtually anywhere in the SUNY System.

We also believe this theme reflects a belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of empowering students to grow academically, personally, and professionally. Limitless Possibilities highlights the boundless opportunities available to transfer students within the SUNY community. “Seamless Transfer, Limitless Possibilities” is a promise to our transfer students that their journey with SUNY will be filled with support, opportunities, and encouragement to help them reach their goals.

We are excited to announce the launch of our new web-based transfer path tools, designed to enhance the transfer experience for our students, and make transfer paths more visible and accessible. From improved detailed transfer guides, to a directly-connected planning tool, we have sought to reintroduce the transfer path web tools with ease in mind. The guides, course listings and planning tools are now integrated database-driven pages, that allow us to connect with an expanding catalog of transfer web tools and resources.

Transfer Path Guides

The SUNY Transfer Path guide pages are now web pages, versus PDF documents. The pages are designed to be more accessible to the visually impaired, are more easily updated and reflect common web standards. In addition, the use of standard pages allow us to directly connect to other resources, and let students, faculty and staff viewing the pages seamlessly transition to connected resources. Pages have also been designed to be responsive – meaning they will work smoothly on both mobile and desktop web browsers.

Integrated Path Planning

As a seamless web application, the new path planning tools provide students with the ability to more easily navigate from a path directly to a campus selection. The tool not only provides an updated look and feel, but includes additional key resources, including a connection to course catalog descriptions, general education information and a link to a new campus support directory.

Core Course Navigator

The Core Course Navigator is a new, additional tool that lets faculty, staff and students easily view how specific lower-division transfer path courses are fulfilled on each campus. This is a useful addition for transfer advising, as well as program planning and evaluation of transfer path-aligned courses and majors.

The Office of Transfer and Articulation will be rolling out a comprehensive technology campaign and awareness effort in Fall 2025 that will introduce students to new and expanded technology offerings, and re-introduce existing tools that are available to all students. The awareness effort will be focused on the following SUNY System-supported resources:
