Emphasizes the interconnections between theory, algorithms, and problem solving by examining student responses to fundamental elementary/middle school mathematics. Content areas in the course include: numeration and number systems, sets and relations, operations on whole numbers, integers and rationals, the process of measurement, and algebra.
