Adolescent Psychology
This course provides an introduction to the study of adolescent psychology, including a review of the biological, cognitive and social transitions that characterize adolescence; the effects of context (e.g., families, peers, schools, etc.) on these transitions; and the psychosocial changes that characterize adolescence (e.g., those impacting identity, autonomy, intimacy and sexuality, achievement, and the development of psychosocial problems). Within all of these topics, gender-based and cultural differences will also be reviewed. Prerequisite: PSYC 100 with a grade of 'C' or better. (3:3,0)
