MAT 205 | Calculus 1
Analytic geometry topics are introduced as needed to carry out the orderly development of the calculus. Topics include limits, continuity, derivatives & differentiation, implicit differentiation, Rolles' Theorem and Mean Value Theorem, applications of differentiation (related rate problems, optimization problems), First & Second Derivative Tests (relative extrema and increasing/decreasing intervals), points of inflection and concavity, limits at infinity (horizontal asymptotes), curve sketching, differentials, antidifferentiation, area of bounded region using summations, Riemann Sums, the definite integral and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.Prerequisite: C or better in MAT 122 or C or better in MAT 131, or placement in MAT 205
