Calculus I
The first semester of a multi-semester sequence of differential and integral calculus. Topics include limits, derivatives and applications, introduction to Riemann sums and integration. Appropriate for math majors and students in partner disciplines requiring understanding of fundamental principles of calculus, with emphasis on deductive reasoning and proof. Prerequisite: mathematical knowledge at the level of trigonometry and college pre-calculus (e.g. successful performance in three years of Regents-level mathematics and precalculus ). Course/exam grades and/or a placement exam may be used to determine whether a student has met this prerequisite.
