Physical Geology with Lab

Introduction to earth materials (minerals, rocks, soils), earth's interior structure, and internal and external geological processes that shape the earth's surface. Topics include weathering and erosion, deformation and earth structures, plate tectonics, ground and surface water, glaciers, wind and deserts, and volcanic-plutonic processes. Physical Geology Lab: Laboratory introduction to topographic and geologic maps, and earth materials (minerals, rocks, fossils). Exercises emphasize interpretation of geological processes, history, and structure.
